ART WALK IN CORONADO September 2006 |

ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2006 A NEW TRADITION WAS INTRODUCED TO THE EMERALD ISLE- CORONADO ART WALK. THE EVENT BROUGHT PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE REGION TO CORONADO TO SEE THE EXHIBITS AND ENTERTAINMENT WHILE SOAKING UP THE AMBIANCE OF A GORGEOUS FALL DAY ON THE ISLAND. A DOUBLE-DECKER BUS WAS FULL ALL DAY, BRINGING VISITORS FROM THE FERRY LANDING FIRST GO TO ART IN THE PARK THEN ON TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE WALK STARTING AT ROTARY PARK. STAR PARK CIRCLE AND PARK PLACE WERE CLOSED OFF TO TRAFFIC AND LINED WITH 72 BOOTHS DISPLAYING THE WORK OF ARTISTS FROM CORONADO, SAN DIEGO, AND BEYOND. PEOPLE BROUGHT THEIR DOGS ALONG AND STROLLED THE LANES OF ART ON THIS FINE DAY. THE FUN-FILLED EVENT ATTRACTED ADULTS AND CHILDREN WHO COULD VIEW ORIGINAL ART WORKS AS WELL AS CREATE MASTERPIECES OF THEIR OWN . INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED RAD HATTER'S PAPER BAG HAT MAKING DISPLAY, AND HAND PAINTING MURALS FOR THE UNESCO ART MILES PROJECT KEPT PEOPLE INVOLVED. STAGES AT EACH END OF THE WALK PROVIDED MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE ARTIST'S BOOTH IS DISPLAYED HERE ALONG PARK PLACE. SHE LOOKS FORWARD TO TAKING PART IN THIS SHOWING OF ART AGAIN NEXT YEAR AS IT WILL BE AN ANNUAL EVENT IN CORONADO, CALIFORNIA.
