News

It seems that lately we have been having a lot of new members. This is
great!! My husband and I have been members for about a year and a half, and
we have met really talented and fun people who share the same passions (love
or hate sometimes) for running and fitness. I just wanted to invite the new
members to take advantage of the forum. I have looked at other running club
forums, and ours is by far more active than most. Because everyone has
different schedules, either work, school, or just family commitments, it can
be difficult to always meet in a structured place or time. The beauty of the
forum is that there are always group runs meeting at different times or
locations that may coincide with different schedules. Anyone is welcome to
jump in at anytime!!

Also, on the forum, we are always posting club activities, and we are always
looking for input on these activities. We sponsor several runs, and
volunteer to assist for many more. You can be as active (or inactive) as you
choose to be, and there isn't any pressure for anyone to do more than they
want. I think we all hope everyone will take an active part, simply because
then we can meet more cool people. (Don't tell my teenage daughter that I
used "cool" in a sentence). Example, I met a really neat lady named Miranda
on the Trace during our 2 mile timed trials. She volunteered right away to
help with our Labor Day Run. Her bright smile and willingness to just jump
right into the fray, was inspirational.

The club has grown since we have joined, and as this area grows, we will
grow more!! I hope our new members can offer the benefits of their past
experiences with running, fitness activities or other running clubs to help
this club grow and mature as well. If you are new to any of these areas,
then we have people with experience that are always ready to lend a hand, or
just a word of encouragement. (Or in my case, maybe a good kick in the
buttocks). If our new members and also our old members, (I prefer the term
"mature") have ideas/wisdom/or just laughs and giggles they would like to
share, I challenge you to post those on the forum.

Anyway, Welcome to the Pacers!! I hope to see all of you, new and "mature"
on the run!!
