I had signed up for the Crescent City Classic three months ago.   One week before the race took place, I knew that I wasn't really in my best shape to be running the 10k, but there are so few races here that I just had to do it, the CCC is one of them!.  Besides, I love to participate in a couple of 10ks early in the spring.  My goal this year: finish it and have fun.   I did it; however, I was 3 minutes slower than last year.  The pacers were well represented by a small group of enthusiastic runners.  PBPacer and GCRC race director Leonard Vergunst had a strong performance and placed third overall in the Masters category.  By the way, he was also the first runner over fifty to finish the race.  Kily, Jeff, Andy, Dwayne, and I were just hanging in there among the 17,500 runners who showed up and enjoyed the course.  Here are the finish times for the pacers.

Leonard Vergunst  35:50

Nestor Raul Anzola  47:17
Aquilino Garcia  51:13
Andy Maxwell  58:00
Jeff Waldron  59:43
Dwayne Higgason  58:45

I have forgotten..... Someone from Kenya (Moses Kigen) won the race!  Can you believe it? It's the first time I hear about a Kenyan winning a 10K run  -- and second place? another runner from Kenya! ................. and third, and fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh....... guess who?
