Petal Relay for Cancer 5K KO Race Report

What a great day for a race....or three in this area!! It was a little muggy, but the rain held off for this fairly flat, out and back 5K. Sheila E. directed a well run event with plenty of food/beverage and even music!! The Mayor of Petal welcomed the runners, and a wonderful and brave cancer survivor shared her personal story of victory over this disease. This race benefited cancer research and there were many very generous sponsers/volunteers, and supporters of this event and cause. The 5K was followed by a 1 mile fun run, which truly was wonderful to witness all the future young runners.

The Pacers were well represented, and if you look at the age categorys and even the overall winners, the majority were pacers. It would take me too long to list everyone so, let me just share a few of the comments from fellow pacers regarding this event.
