Fifty people gathered at Cassidy Park in Bogalusa, LA on Saturday February 2 to participate in the 2008 edition of the Milltown Classic.  It was a cold morning with temperatures in the low 30's by the time the race started.  The Pine Belt Pacers were represented by Tony El Jefe Mozingo, her niece Sidney Sanders, and Nestor Raul Anzola.  The race was dominated since the beginning by a group of teenagers coming from Picayune, MS.  
 
15 years-old Jordan Penton claimed the victory with a time of 19:34 followed by Jared Holosmb in 20:15 and William Cleland (20:39).  Brooke Moody was the winner on the women category in 25:37.  Second place went to Melissa Mauer (25:52) and third to Regina Ancoin who finished in 26:59. The Pacers had a good performance.  Tony (23:57), Sidney (29:19) and Nestor Raul (21:25) placed second in their respective age groups.   Former Robin Ryder's running mate in USM Dennis Devore finished in 21:33 and was also second in his age group.  One of the PBP forum contributors, Rock Earhart from the gulf coast, won his age group (+60) in 24:27.  Her wife, Janet also won hers.
 
I enjoyed the race, improved 15 seconds my time from the previous year, and of course ate a lot of jambalaya after the race!!  That is why I love races in Louisiana!!!   Thanks to the Rotary Club of Bogalusa and its volunteers for organizing another edition of this classic event.
