The Predicted Time Fun Run was that…FUN!!! Everybody enjoyed the run, the food and runners camaraderie. The weather cooperates a lot at the beginning, with clouds protecting us from the sun and a refreshing breeze. We had 43 participants in the 2 mile and about 15 kids in the half mile.

Everybody completed the 2 miles between 12’39" minutes and 41’11" minutes, so we had Runners/Walkers with all abilities. Together with the adults, we had 6 kids running the 2 miles including the Otaigbe girls, Shakera Cuyler, Jacob Martin and the little Bo Henderson. They did a great job in the 2 miles.

We had a big group from the 12 week training program; I can see that they are very motivated by their improvement. They missed the coaches Becky Ryder, Audrey Jackson and Vicky Copeland, and we expect to see them next week.

I was glad to see many people that I haven’t seen in a while, like Richie (still recovering from an injury but running strong) and Anita Sumrall, Terry Ingram, Steve Phillips (DNF because cramping, promised to be better next week), Dave Beckett, Brittany Ware (a fast girl), Lance Ware, Deborah Barret (she is running again) and Deedre Coll (she helped me at the finish line).

After making all the calculations together with Oak Grove Coach "Ironman" Robin Ryder, we declared Ginny Dufrene the winner, finishing 2 seconds below her predicted time. Congratulations Ginny, keep running strong.

I want to say thanks to all the runners and their families that attended the first week in this event. I encourage them to come again and also to all the other runners who didn’t make it this time, you are more than welcome to participate.
