Saturday morning began with a downpour and a weather report of snow flurries later in the day. No one would have thought with these weather conditions that over 100 runners would line up at the start to Run 4 Love. The race began at 9 a.m. at the Long Leaf Trace Gateway and was an out and back. Congratulations to Jeff Hathorn, for pushing hard to stay ahead of a few other very fast runners allowing him to be the first to cross the finish line. This race was an eye opener for me as I discovered just how difficult it is to push a cute little butterball in a jogging stroller. Whew ~ THAT was a really great workout. After stopping a few times on the way back to give Kaley her pacifier, running and talking with Nestor, Kaley nodded off to sleep and we made it to the finish in under 34 minutes, about 6 minutes faster (and 10 lbs more in the stroller) than our last race together. It was great to see and chat with many of my fellow pacers and we are looking forward to our next run.
