About 45 people ran in the race in perfect weather. Kris King ran a strong 18:44 to win. Richie Sumrall and I ran the race shoulder to shoulder just about the whole race and with about 200 hundred yards to go we each realized if we were to get third place it was going to be an all out gut buster sprint. I have not finished a race like that before and our competitive spirits got to both of us . I ended up in third and Richie was right behind me by a second in 4th. Andy Maxwell's daughter did a great job in organizing the event for her senior project. Kristy Turner also did a great job in running the event.
