Ellisville Rotary Club 5K 10/29/2011 |
The annual Ellisville Rotary Club 5K run was held on Saturday, October 29 at the Howard Technical Park. The weather was a little cool for some of the people with the temperature about 40 at race time. I find it amusing that all of the former "Yankees" seem to freeze when the temp gets a little cool. After a few instructions by race director, Wendy, and a prayer by Frank Barrett, we were off and running. Neil Solomon and Aaron Gatheright ran side by side for the first two miles, and then Neil pulled into the lead and won overall with a time of 19:15. Abby Mills was the first female with a 25:11. Ray Henderson was the Masters winner at 20:35, and Crystal Mills was the female Masters winner with a 26:24. Phillip Wedgeworth finished with a 21:12 to take Grand Masters honors. In the under 19 age group, Oleg Mills was first at 23:11 and Bo Henderson was second with a 22:39. Klay Mills was the only female under 19 with a time of 29:23. In the 30-39 age group, Aaron Gatheright was first at 19:35, Michael Yarbrough was second at 21:02, and Jeff Barrett was third at 25:23. Jennifer Henderson was the first female in the 30-39 age group with a time of 29:45, and Carrie Harper was second at 31:05. For the males 40-49, Jim Bob Mills was first at 21:59, Scott Alexander was second at 22:32, and Kip Simpson was third at 24:38. For the 40-49 females, Tandy Martin was first with a time of 28:44, Stephanie Williams was second at 29:59, and Renea Bisnette was third at 33:54. In the 50-59 male group, Deniss Bisnett was first at 21:45, Eric Weill was second at 22:14, and David Dill was third at 24:45. In the 60+ males, Tom Smith was first at 25:37, and Frand Barrett was secondn at 26:25. After the race there was plenty of food provided by Subway of Ellisville. Thanks for all of the hard work done by the Rotary Club.
