BECKY RYDER’S 60th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION |
I want
to thank all of you helped me celebrate my 60th birthday. I
did make the 60 laps on the track and I did it without
walking. Most of you know that I had reinjured myself about
a week ago, so the 60 laps were very slow, but I DID IT. I
want to especially thank Janie, Susie, Darleen, and Vicki
who helped me drag my butt around the track when I really
wanted to quit. And, a huge thank you to my physical
therapist daughter-in-law who got me together enough to make
the distance. It was really neat to be able to run with old
and new friends and accomplish a good deed for a bunch of
needy kids.
I hope
that all of you who came to the track or the fish fry had as
much fun as I did. We have thus far raised almost $1700 for
the Hattiesburg High Track team.
Yesterday I talked with Diane James from the booster club
and she told me that because of our efforts, the team will
be able to travel to a couple of meets that they otherwise
would not have been able to attend. She also said that the
money will provide each track team member with proper
training shoes. Last year this was not the case.
We took
lots of pictures and I'll forward them to you in a day or
two. I'll keep all of you posted on the final amount that we
get and if any of you did not contribute and would like to
do so, the check should be made to Hattiesburg High School
Track Booster Club and mailed to me:
