Marathon Finishers Medallion
Iva Lightsey, Phillip Wedgeworth, Richard Sims, Randy Saxon, Tom Foster, and Antha Estridge went to the Mississippi Marathon and 10K. Tom crewed, Phillip and Richard ran the 10K, and the others all ran the marathon. It was cool (30° at the start) and windy, especially on the return (of the out-and-back course) in the stretches with no roadside trees. All finished successfully and got their medallions. See the complete results on the Mississippi Track Club web site. Race Report © Bob Clark: Well excuse me! But somebody left my name off the list of Pine Belt pacers that did the Jackson Marathon. It was hiney freezing cold out there. On the way back, the part that was out in the open was into the wind. I noticed a few times my lips felt like I had just come from the dentist office. Also It was mostly uphill coming back. It must have been, because I hit the turn around at 1:59 and change. I got back in 2:15. Also of note, my little Garmin forerunner (GPS) measured the course @ 26.21 mi. Jack Ward made me suffer an indignation at the finish by asking me if had started an hr. earlier than the normal start. (They let the walkers and really slow folks start at 7 a.m.). The race had the usual amenities cookies, nanners, cokes, beer and Pizza. All of us that did the marathon got a medallion. 37 3 Jim Bitgood
