Club Picnic April 29, 2004

A good crowd showed up for the Pine Belt Pacers Guest/Member Predicted Time Run/Walk and Picnic. A two mile course had been laid out, and after a slight delay to allow the rain to abate, the runners queued up to see who knew best how to pace. Everyone had signed in and recorded a predicted time. The race was further delayed when a rather pushy USATF representative confiscated several watches. When it was over, everyone had come in under their predicted time, not because of low humidity, but because of the gross sandbagging everyone did. Somehow Vicki Copeland, who is usually more consistent, missed her time by 13 seconds and was the female winner. Nestor of course won for the men as he always sandbags and is real good at it. Many thanks to the Ryders and Barretts and Bells and whoever else helped put this on as it was great fun and good food.
