The 2005 Bogalusa Rotary
Club Milltown Classic 5K Run/Walk was held on Saturday, February
5, with about 50 people participating in both events. The
weather was a little cool at the start, but we warmed up fast
enough. After a few instructions, the race director shot the
gun, and Max Lemons(sometimes known as some joker from the
Coast) took off and never faced any challenger at all. Eleven
year old Anthony Stricker and Phillip Wedgeworth, a very old
man, ran together for the first two miles, and then Phillip
pulled away and was able to finish second. Anthony was not far
behind. The Stricker family dominated today's event with sisters
Kayla and Christie coming in first and third. Rachel Miller was
the second female. Another Stricker, Rebeka, won her age group
to round out the family affair and make Mom and Dad Stricker
very happy. Mark Boniol was the first race walker, and he was
followed by Nestor Raul Anzola and Holly Ryder. There were only
two female walkers Gay Barnes and Doris Garrett. Micah Simmons,
Barton Lee, and Trey Grimes were the 1-12 age winners. Kathy Lee
Barrack was the only female in that age group. Rebeka Stricker,
Whitney Hunt, and Mary Beth Barrack were the female 13-18
winners, and Stephen Adams was the male winner. William Cleland
was the only 19-24 runner. Kenny Milton was the only 30-34 age
runner. Mark Kellar, Elden Earhart, and David Duke were the
35-39 age winners. Ben Barrack, Tom Lewis, and John Clayton were
the 40-44 winners, and Christine Webert was the only female in
that age. Steve Walker, Carl LeBouef, and Chan Willis took
honors in the 45-49 age group, and Martha Ray Sartor was the
female winner. Mike Denton, Dennis Driskell, and Clay Drewes
took the age 50-54 age group. Raymond Miller, Rock Earhart, and
Joe Tosterud were the 55=59 age, and Regenia Jucoin was the
female winner. Carroll Perlander, Ronald Williams, and H. K.
Tabari were the 60-69 winners. Becky Ryder and Elizabeth
Tosterud were the females in that age. Charles Bond was the only
over 70 runner. This was a well run race with more stuff in the
registration packer than one normally gets. The awards were
extremely nice and plentiful. After the race we enjoyed good
food and fellowship. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make
this race a success. I apologize for not having times, but they
weren't given
to me, and I didn't think that I should just make them up.©
