Please come and show your support for our Mother Earth.

 

            On Saturday, April 23, 2005, Progress Fest 2005: a benefit for The Longleaf Trace will begin lift off.  Progress Fest 2005 is an Earth Day Celebration that will give the people of the Pine Belt a way to go out and appreciate our beloved planet. The White Trash Boys, a blue-grass band based here in Hattiesburg, will start around 2:00pm and then Chance Fisher will rock on till 10:00pm that night.   There will be activities throughout the day with a: 

 

  • 5K run                                          registration @ 8:00 with a $15 donation
  • Disc Golf tournament                 registration @ 9:00 with a $15 donation
  • 2 on 2 Volleyball tournament     registration @ 1:00 with a $10 donation

 

Also there will be a Rock and Mineral Exhibit, Kite Flying, Face Painting, Fishing, and Putt-Putt Golf offered to anyone who wishes to have a good time.  The gates open at 8:00am and admission to get in the park is only $5.  If you pay the registration fee for the 5K run or the Disc Golf tournament, your admission is covered by the your registration fee.   

 

Progress Fest will be held at Lake Sehoy Park, located one mile west of Hwy 49 N on Classic Dr. All proceeds generated from Progress Fest 2005 will be donated to The Longleaf Trace.
