Ryder, Waites top finishers in Hobble Then Gobble Run

 

Robin Ryder of Hattiesburg won the Hobble Then Gobble 5K Run at Lake Serene Thursday morning.

Ryder finished the race in 16 minutes, 51 seconds.

Logan Waites, a student at Presbyterian Christian High School, was the first female to finish. Waites was clocked in 20:54.

"We had a really good turnout," said Becky Ryder of the Pine Belt Pacers running club in Hattiesburg. "We had 109 finishers.

"We will make it an annual event on Thanksgiving Day."

Jeff Hawthorn and Audrey Jackson were the top male and female finishers in the masters division and Philip Wedgeworth and Vicki Copeland were the first to cross the finish line in the grandmasters division.

Top finishers in other divisions:

  • Age 0-19: Lavel Wall and Neil Summrall; Sara Jackson and Amber Griffins.
  • Age 20-29: Paul Herron and Shelby Topp; Ginny Foxworth and Chrissy Herrington.
  • Age 30-39: Jim Coll and Randy McCalip; Kim Ryder and Debra Greer.
  • Age 40-49: Keith Barrett and Steve Blaine; Judy Baker and Kim Amacker.
  • Age 50-59: Dave Beckett and Steve Philips; Cheryl Barnes and Margaret Herron.
  • Age 60-over: Bob Lafferty; Becky Ryder and Jane Givens.
