Charles wants me to start out by saying that after the 5K,
he was the first one in the beer line, being served by a dark
cajun beauty. At least he was first in something that night!!!
Well, he did beat me by 3 seconds that morning in the Temple 5K.
But, revenge was sweet!! Well, let's start with the race
details. This was our second race of the day, and it was a
little hotter that evening than our previous race in the
morning. There were aprox. 280 runners and the course was well
marked and very flat. We ran through the Budweiser plant (I
think this might be where I left Charles)!! There were a lot of
door prizes and free beer and food. I won the Masters award with
a time of 21:27 (remember this was a 3 mile, not a 5K), and
Charles ran 22:16. I think this was about as close as I have
come to spilling my guts!! I was so determined to beat Charles
after the beating he gave me that morning, I almost killed
myself!! We both beat our previous times from last year by about
a minute. I think it was because of my "go fast" favorite racing
lucky shirt. Charles should have worn his racing tube socks with
his 70's head band. He always beats me when he wears his tube
socks. All in all, a very good race. We highly recommend this
one to everyone!! © Audrey
