The 3rd annual Tri4God was held in Madison on Saturday June 24th 2006. This was a very well run event with over 300 entrants at race time. Race distance was  a 1/3 mile swim, 18 mile bike and 3 run. There were a lot of pine belt area folks, but not the usual cast of characters. No “Speedy” Ryder-was at the Grand Canyon. No Villalonga-he was in France for the Ironman. No Mozingo-no clue where he was. Tony may be glad he did not attend since Jim Coll may have solved his little swimming problem and posted a solid 1:33 for the distance . Trey Pounds from Brookhaven did very well with a 1:22:52 placing him 20th overall and 3 seconds from third in his age group. John Pendergrass was solid as usual winning his age group in a time of 1:40. I had a pretty good race going 1:22:39 for 18thoverall. Our women turned in even stronger performances. Ashley Baily was 2nd in her age group and 15th women overall. Since Big Mike and I have been giving her tips I am proud to say that Kim “Mrs.Speedy” Ryder went 1:46 5th in her age group and 24th female in her first triathlon. Also Sabrina Langston did a 1:53. I am sorry if I left anyone out. We hope to see everyone in Meridian for the Sunfish Tri.
