Running Bear said the
other day that the traffic statistics for the Pine Belt
Pacers web page was showing that it was a magnet that was drawing thousands of visitors from all over the world. Well, because the PBP club web page has reached new heights of international popularity, the race report for the Valentine's Day 5K will be post in a multilingual fashion in honor to our beloved readers.

le samedi 10 février. It was a beautiful, sunny but
cold day. Alors que la
température était plus qu'agréable au départ, avec le soleil et un beau ciel bleu. Mehr als 200 Leute sorgten sich das Rennen. La carrera tuvo lugar en el parque Gulf Island National Seashore. Pine Belt Pacer Leonard Vergunst était le global gagnant. Leonard setzte sich in 17:13. Translation and Summary: It was a nice day for
the Valentine's Day race. Pine Belt Pacer Leonard
Vergunst was the overall winner in 17:13. The final
results look very similar to those from the YMCA Winter
Classic 2 weeks ago. Thus, Bill Gasparrini took the
Grand Master title and other Pacers such as Phillip
Wedgeworth, Ed Wheeler, Bob Clark, and Ron Williams
placed in their age groups. Of course, as usual I was
the only club member who did not get even close to an
award! In fact, I made a wrong turn in Goverment
Street, got lost, and arrived to the park 10 minutes
after the start time. Anyway, I just ran the course for
fun and finished it in 22:34. Everything about the
organization by the Gulf Coast Running Club
was great. The only little concern... they forgot to
