Terry's comments:
Thanks! I just got back home about an
hour ago. I got up early and left Huntsville around 2:30 this
morning. The race went well. The weather was not what I had
hoped. It was 62 degrees with 90% humidity at the start and it
rained for about an hour during the race.
Like when I ran Portland, I abandoned my race plan at the start
and decided to go for broke. That worked for about 16 miles -
unfortunately as you know, that left 10 miles to go. I pushed
through about three more decent miles then really began to slow.
I also had to take a couple of potty breaks in the last 10 miles
that didn't help my time. All in all, I am happy with my
performance and I had a great time in Huntsville. After I take a
few easy weeks to recover, I will continue my training while I
get ready for Boston.
My splits were:
1 - 7:05
