RED BULL Sighted in Mississippi

Mozingo Inks Another Endorsement Deal

Representatives for Red Bull Energy Drink were present in the Hub City yesterday for negotiations with agents for Tony Mozingo, who is expected to compete for first place overall in this year’s Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii.  The Red Bull brand has been a hot commodity in Europe since 1986, where it was introduced to serious amateur and professional athletes.  Since then, several soft drink companies have flooded the market with copycat products, but Red Bull is the original and best of all the energy drinks.

Mozingo agreed to waive his endorsement fee, rumored to be in the six-figures, in exchange for a complimentary case of Red Bull, the designation as Hattiesburg’s first “friend of the bull”, and some cool gear.

Pine Belt Pacer supporters are welcome to drop by the law office on Highway 98 for a sample, according to Mozingo, but they must vote for his reelection as El Jefe of the club at the end of the year.

Zoot Sports yields to pressure

After serious negotiations, a final contract has been inked adding Tony Mozingo to the Zoot Team.  Zoot is a Hawaiian company that makes tri suits and gear for racing.  Talks almost stalled for good late yesterday as representatives of Zoot insisted that Mozingo not be seen publicly with certain Pine Belt Pacer members while wearing their logo and colors.  According to Mozingo, the conversation went something like this:

ZOOT REP.-  "You guys down there in Mississippi don't even have running water, much less tort reform, so why should we sponsor you?"

MOZINGO-  "Because, I look good in Zoot suits and I'm the only game in town..."

ZOOT REP-  "Then what about the Speedos that Phillips and Pendergrass wear, and Barrett's various outfits?

MOZINGO-  "I'll compromise by promising never to wear your stuff around Barrett when he has his snakeskin cowboy boots on, but that's it!"

ZOOT REP-  "What about Beardshall and Wedgeworth?"

MOZINGO-  "I ain't sellin' out my friends, Bud, so take it or leave it..."
