Just 1/4 mile off the Trace at Lake Thoreau Drive (first street west of Jackson Station), the Lake Thoreau Evnironmental Center and Leon Eubanks Nature Preserve is now open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Road bikes will have trouble with the rough gravel entrance but riders of mountain and cruiser bikes will enjoy the many trails, fishing lake, beaver pond, picnic tables and lush forest. Take time one day to enjoy this wonderful resource provided by Southern Miss, the University of Southern Mississippi.
