     Most parents are aware of how music and movement classes can enhance a young child’s development.  It improves memory skills, fine motor skills, coordination and creativity.  The reason for this is that music and movement stimulates the brain and therefore promotes learning.  This experience is enhanced even more when it becomes a family bonding one.  Then it helps develop confidence and a positive self-esteem. 

     Now take this and add the sounds of a foreign language (in this case Spanish).  Suddenly you are giving your child an even greater gift.

     Children are born with the ability to distinguish and absort the sounds of all languages.  This rapidly begins to diminish and they simply develop the sounds of the languages they hear.  Research shows that there is a “window of opportunity” for language development between the ages of 0-60 months.  The  idea strategy for optimizing your chiold’s lifelong linguistic ability is exposure to the sounds of the languages you want them to develop as early as possible.

     This is what MUSICA was developed to do.  It is the only music and movement program in this area with a Spanish component designed for this age group (6-42 months) As an added bonus the child shares this experience with a parent or adult companion, thus creating a bonding experience and a learning one for the adult as well.
