Swim 1 mile, Bike 40 miles, Run 9 miles Contact: Race Director: Robert Mozingo Date: August 5, 2006 Start time: 6:30 a.m. Location: Lake Serene Clubhouse (Lake Serene is located about 4 miles west of I-59 on Highway 98W. The clubhouse is 1 mile south of Highway 98W on West Lake Road.) Course information: The swim will take place in the Ski Lake at Lake Serene and the transition areas for the bike and run will be at the parking lot of the clubhouse. The bike portion of the race will consist of an out-and-back ride from Lake Serene up Cole Road, out Old Highway 44 to Railroad Road and Clyde Depot, then north on the scenic Longleaf Trace and back to the clubhouse. The run will consist of three loops around the fishing lake adjacent to the Ski Lake. Lagniappe: A post-race party will be held at the Mozingo home at Lake Serene and is open to all Pine Belt Pacers and their friends. The party will be geared toward the families of Pine Belt Pacers as well as athletes. There will be a cookout and boating. Team entries in this inaugural event are encouraged. All participants will receive a trinket of some kind and will have a great time. Confirmed entries include the team of Tony Mozingo/Millie Mozingo (age 5 mos.), and Pacer President Jim Coll. Ex-USM football great and Ironman Mike Villalonga, as well as Ironman Mike Barnes are rumored to be considering an appearance. (Fundraising for an appearance fee for Running Bear dried up soon after the campaign began due to lack of interest.) Entry fee: A love offering will be collected after the race.
