This is the first race
report I have ever written as a course monitor. However,
since Merry took pictures and I ended up in too many of
them, I guess I better explain the shots I am sending to the
webmaster. First, it was a beautiful day. The weather was
perfect with cool temps and low humidity. This really
helped all of us course monitors with our duties. Watching
scores of runners create a nice breeze as they passed us
also helped. It was grueling on those street corners, but
all the sweaty participants made it worthwhile. I did
stagger in from my last duty post and finished last for the
day. I tried to beat a young lady from California, but she
tripped me just before the goal line. Another great race
put on by the Pine Belt Pacers. © Steve Ulery
